Marketing / Operation Manager

Since its foundation at Rotterdam in 1994, Adotraco International has provided Korean companies and individuals in Benelux countries with various logistics services including shipping, forwarding and global relocation. As the flow of goods increases between Korea and EU countries, the company’s role as a logistics service provider became critical for the business operation of Korean companies in EU area. To satisfy more complex and various demands from clients, the company is actively searching for a candidate for Marketing and Operations Manager.

The position would ideally suit a Korean /English speaking graduate with excellent database management skills and experience who also has good administrative experience for more than 5 years. This position requires a hard working and task-oriented marketing professional who is analytical, a good team player and able to pick up existing and new projects with little supervision and minimal training.

Resposibility

Marketing Management

Working closely with Managing Director, plan, propose and implement marketing activities targeting at Korean customers in EU countries. The main responsibilities include: research, developing marketing plans, to include pricing, discounts, incentives, business partners, advertisements, electronic media and public relations

Undertake comprehensive research of opportunities for customers’ existing and new demand for logistics service, which may involve regular meetings with Korean customers and studying public information

Research potential transportation service providers with the view of collaborating on business operations 

Develop comprehensive marketing plans targeting at Korean companies in EU countries

Effectively execute marketing activities, communicating all plans with colleagues through updates, meetings and presentations

Appoint and liaise with external service providers over booking, handling and tracking of consignment movement

Develop marketing materials including brochures, press releases, and promotional letters written in English and Korean

Design, launch and update the company’s website with details and business information

Customer meetings. Develop and present business proposals for customers to maximize the efficiency of their logistics operations between EU and Korea

Perform data driven analysis on major customers and their logistics activities to identify business opportunities.

Operation Management

Analyze existing operating process, point out the areas to be improved, implement the ideas for efficiency, and evaluate the result

Design and develop operational database to support daily business activities including order taking, data transferring, and document issuing for exports/imports

Manage A/R (account receivables) data and provide Managing director with the overview of customer credibility

Develop and advise on analyses to measure the profitability of service segments, assisting Managing Director in making decisions to increase the operational efficiency

Analyze customers’ logistics activities based on data query and support Managing Director to build well-focused marketing strategy

Provide regular status reports covering ongoing database projects and issues

Support and train users of the information systems to ensure that the database is used effectively and meets user requirements

Implement the data protection requirements including network securities, virus protections and regular back-up activities

Manage global relocation business by supporting moving Korean families – more than 50 families a year, and by organizing external service networks both in EU and Korea

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, CAPABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE

Masters degree qualified from an outstanding university in EU, ideally in a business or Information Technologies related field.

Excellent communication, both written and spoken Korean and English, and interpersonal skills; Fluency in Korean is critical since the company serves Korean customers and closely work with agents in Korea

At least five years administrative experience in a marketing environment, in particular, an in-depth understanding and hands-on experience of Korean companies

Highly competent technical and analytical skills and an understanding of systems development issues and thorough understanding of relational databases

At ease with query tools, and statistical software and other data mining tools

Have delivered at least one operational database development project, which involve integrating data from a number of different sources

Good project management and team skills, Attention to detail, organized and methodical approach and able to meet tight deadlines under pressure.

Cross-cultural sensitivity; able to perform effectively in an international environment

Proactive self-starter, ability to work independently using own initiative but also effectively as part of a team

Service oriented and able to take a consultative approach with good trouble-shooting approach
